Mentoring Minds is an educational publisher focused on the success of students. Our passion is to develop quality educational materials that encourage children to think critically for effective problem solving. Equipped with many years of educational experience, our product development team creates materials that address relevant issues in the classroom such as critical thinking, vocabulary development, the prevention of bullying, classroom management, and accommodations for students with special needs.

Michael L. Lujan, M.Ed.

As a fellow educator, devoted husband, and proud father of two young daughters, Michael co-founded Mentoring Minds with his wife Lisa. With over 18 years of experience in the field of education, he has dedicated himself to excellence in developing quality educational products that are designed to help teachers teach children to think critically for effective problem solving. Surrounded by a team of exceptional teachers, curriculum coordinators, and administrators, Michael's mission for Mentoring Minds is to create materials that will "actually" be used by classroom teachers and their students. The staff and team members of Mentoring Minds consider themselves partners with teachers in their continuous pursuit of providing children the best education possible. Mentoring Minds is ready and willing to provide teachers with the quality tools needed to be successful. Michael holds a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education, a B.A. Degree in Sociology, a B.A. Degree in Political Science, and an M.Ed. in School Administration.

Beverly Collins, M.Ed.

Beverly Collins worked for Tyler ISD for 29 years. She began teaching at Austin Elementary in 1976 and taught there for 2 years. In 1978, Beverly took a position as a teacher at Douglas Elementary where she worked for the next 27 years. After teaching for 15 years at Douglas, Beverly became an assistant principal for 4 years, and later on the principal of Douglas for 8 years. Douglas was a recognized school 4 of the 8 years she served as principal. Beverly was instrumental in founding a family learning center at Douglas which served young children from birth to 7 years of age and the parents of these children who had an educational need.

Jana Kuehn, B.S.E

Jana Kuehn began her teaching career in 1986 following graduation from the University of Arkansas. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education, she served in several capacities throughout Tyler Independent School District. Jana’s favorite role was as a kindergarten teacher. Her goal was to make the first-school experience a positive one for parents and students alike. Jana most recently taught kindergarten at TISD’s Rice Elementary where she was chosen Campus Teacher of the Year in 2007.

Sandra Love, Ed.D.

Sandra Love holds a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Mississippi State University. She earned Mid-Management, Supervision, Gifted Education, and Early Childhood certifications. Her career as a public educator spans 37 years in Mississippi and Texas schools. Dr. Love served as an elementary principal for 15 years and taught in elementary education, in gifted and talented education, and in higher education. Honors she has received are National Distinguished Principal of Texas in 1998 by TEPSA and 1999 Principal of the Year by the South Central Association of Texas Elementary Principals for Zone 8.

Connie Moore, M.Ed.

With 30 years experience in public education, Connie Moore has taught grades one through seven, Special Education, Gifted/Talented, served as a Middle School Assistant Principal, and Elementary Principal.  Connie graduated from Baylor University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  After teaching four years, she began graduate work and completed a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1983.  She then returned to UTTyler to complete her Master of Education in Administration in 1989.

Marian Rainwater, M.Ed.

Marian Rainwater has 29 years of public education experience. She has served as a mathematics teacher, a curriculum specialist, and in a variety of administrative roles including mathematics coordinator, gifted/talented director, technology director, and curriculum director. Marian holds a B.S. Degree in Mathematics and a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction.

Karen Reeves, M.Ed.

After graduating from Baylor University with a B.S. in Education, Karen taught first grade for five years at Rice Elementary in Tyler, Texas. She then obtained a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Texas in Tyler. For the past 15 years, Karen has taught fourth grade Math and Science at Owens Elementary in Tyler, Texas.

Teresa Sherman, B.S.E.

Teresa Sherman taught elementary school in Greenville, Mississippi for 4 years. After moving to Tyler, Texas, she taught for 6 years at St. Gregory Catholic School where she was chosen as "Most Outstanding Teacher. " She spent the next 12 years at Douglas Elementary teaching grades 1-3. She also served as Instructional Specialist there for 3 years. In 1995, Mrs. Sherman was selected as the Tyler Independent School District "Teacher of the Year. "

Karen White, M.Ed.

With over 27 years in education, Karen White has taught preschool through fifth grade, worked as an instructional technology specialist, served as an elementary assistant principal, written elementary mathematics curriculum, and conducted numerous staff development workshops in the areas of mathematics and technology integration. Karen received a B.A. in elementary education from Trinity University, and the M.Ed. in school administration from the University of Texas at Tyler.

Allison Wiley, B.S.E.

After graduating from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, Allison taught Reading and Social Studies at Stanley Middle School in Weatherford, Texas. She then moved to Plano, Texas and taught 1st and 4th grades at Forman Elementary. More recently, Allison was a reading and math tutor for 2nd through 5th grades at Bell Elementary in Tyler, Texas. She found it most rewarding working one-on-one with at-risk children.
