Spanish Critical Thinking Wheel helps students meet learning objectives
"A must for every teacher!"
Mentoring Minds knows the importance of giving students quality instruction that applies to their entire educational career and beyond. We have designed critical thinking wheels to provide teachers with the easy reference and quick access they need to help their students gain foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills essential for their future.
Our Spanish Critical Thinking Wheel offers all the benefits of the English Critical Thinking Wheel. This teaching wheel supplies questions, activities, definitions and examples for meeting the learning objectives of Bloom’s Taxonomy. The taxonomy is designed to help educators set useful learning objectives for their students by separating various types of learning into different categories, or "domains."
The Spanish Critical Thinking Wheel has Spanish teaching strategies that will assist educators working with Spanish-speaking students. The example questions provided are always open-ended in order to prevent certain subject matter or content from being excluded.
Mentoring Minds uses "Power Words" to guide teachers in assembling high quality lessons. The Spanish Critical Thinking Wheel has six Power Words that are accompanied by relevant questioning prompts, definitions and teacher expectations for the lower levels of thinking skills. The other side of our teaching wheels has the same set of words and prompts but for use with higher learning levels.
This essential tool can also be used during a Response to Intervention (RtI) approach when appropriate. RtI is meant to help teachers and parents identify students who have a higher likelihood of not meeting academic standards because of their academic or behavioral needs. In the United States, students for whom English is not their first language often fall into this category.
Teachers can help turn struggling learners into successful learners by using the Response to Intervention approach. The Spanish Critical Thinking Wheel very well may be a significant first step when reaching out to students having difficulty in school. Language barriers make even the simplest lessons challenging to understand and process. By taking advantage of the Spanish-language critical thinking exercises outlined in the wheel, educators are equipped with Spanish teaching strategies that will help them connect with their students.
