PLEASE READ THIS MENTORING MINDS PRIVACY POLICY (“PRIVACY POLICY”) WHICH IS PART OF THE MENTORING MINDS TERMS OF USE (“TERMS OF USE”) CAREFULLYANY TERMS DEFINED IN THE TERMS OF USE SHALL HAVE THE SAME MEANING IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY.  THIS PRIVACY POLICY PERTAINS TO YOUR ACCESSING AND USING THE MENTORINGMINDS.COM OR MENTORINGMINDSONLINE.COM (MOTIVATION ONLINE) WEBSITES.

Mentoring Minds understands that privacy is important to our website visitors, to schools who register for our Motivation Online service, and to students whose information may be collected during their use of the Motivation Online service.  This Privacy Policy describes the information collected during registration for and through Your use of the Website, how We use it, how We share it, how We protect it, and the choices You can make about Your information.

The Website is operated by Mentoring Minds, L.P., 4908 Hightech Dr., Tyler, TX 75703 (“We”).  Mentoring Minds has contracted with MySatori LLC to operate certain areas of the Motivation Online website on Mentoring Minds’ behalf.    

ATTENTION:  PLEASE READ OUR PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE WEBSITE.  USING THE WEBSITE INDICATES THAT YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS PRIVACY POLICY IN FULL. Motivation Online Website

Administrators.  During Your administrative use of the Motivation Online website, we may collect:  Your name, email address, position within Your school, students’ grades at Your school, and possibly student first and last names, user IDs and passwords (if You use the upload option to set up student accounts).  The Motivation Online website administrator dashboard uses a third-party vendor LivePerson for our live chat customer service.  We may receive Your personal information included in Your chats, calls and survey responses from LivePerson.  For LivePerson’s privacy policy, visit http://www.liveperson.com/policies/customer-website-privacy.

Teachers.  During Your use of the Motivation Online website as a teacher, we may collect:  Your name, email address, school name, what level and classes You teach, and possibly student first and last names, user IDs and passwords (if You use the upload option to set up student accounts).  We may also receive information about You from Your school/school district and combine it with the information described above.  The Motivation Online website teacher dashboard uses a third-party vendor LivePerson for our live chat customer service.  We may receive Your personal information included in Your chats, calls and survey responses from LivePerson.  For LivePerson’s privacy policy, visit http://www.liveperson.com/policies/customer-website-privacy.

Students.  During Your use of the Motivation Online website as a student, we may collect:  Your name, user id, password, and Your answers to assignments, tests, and other work assigned to You by Your teacher.  We may combine this with information collected from Your school or school district.

Mentoring Minds Website

When You place an order on the Mentoring Minds website, we may collect:  Your name, email address, password, telephone number, address, credit card number and other account information, school name, and any other information that You provide while registering or placing an order.  

When You access and use the Mentoring Minds website, we automatically collect information regarding You and Your device, including Your device’s Internet Protocol address, the domain name of Your Internet search provider, and aggregated information that cannot be used to specifically identify You.  Additional information collected is described in the Analytics and Cookies sections below.

We may collect information about You from third party sources.  The Mentoring Minds website provides connections with Facebook.  If You connect with Facebook through the Website, We receive Your public profile (which includes Your Facebook User ID, Your profile photo, Your public information, and Your friends’ User IDs), Your language, Your country, and whether You are in an age group, for instance, under 18, between 18-20, or 21 and over.  We can also access, store, and update the information You share through Facebook. 

We may also receive personal information about You from the other social media companies listed on the Mentoring Minds website when You click on the button for a social media company such as Pinterest or Twitter or You follow/connect with the Mentoring Minds account on a given social media site.

Motivation Online Website

We use the information that We collect for several purposes, all for the use and benefit of Your school and for no other commercial purpose, including:

  • To provide the Motivation Online service to You;
  • To generate and provide performance results, usage information, feedback and reports to You;
  • To provide user verification services;
  • To process and respond to Your inquiries;
  • To send You information about Your relationship or transactions with us;
  • To prevent fraud and abuse of the Website and to otherwise protect users and visitors and our business;
  • To assist law enforcement and respond to subpoenas; and
  • As explained elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, personal information We collect may be processed by our partners in providing the Website.

    A.             Your School/School District

    In terms of personal information stored in Your school/school district account, administrators at Your school/school district have access to all administrator, teacher and student personal information.  All teachers at Your school/school district have access to all students’ personal information.  All teachers at Your school/school district have access to all teachers’ and administrators’ names but not their user IDs or passwords.

    B.             Third Party Service Providers and Business Partners 

    Motivation Online Website

    We may use third party service providers to perform functions in connection with the Website.  However, to the extent third party service providers obtain student personal information, they have agreed to use or share such information only in connection with carrying out the work they are doing for Mentoring Minds and only as permitted by this privacy policy.

    Mentoring Minds Website

    We may use third party service providers and business partners to perform functions in connection with the Website, such as credit card and other payment processing, site analytics and functions related to analyzing and improving the Website usefulness, reliability, user experience, and operation, advertising, storing data, providing users with products and services, and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.  We also may share Your personal information for their direct marketing and promotional purposes and so they can provide services to You. Any credit card information You provide through the Website may be shared with and may be stored by our credit card processor, CyberSource, and is subject to its privacy policy, including in the case of data breach (see http://www.cybersource.com/privacy/ for details).

    G.             Analytics for Mentoring Minds Website.  We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Website.  These tools may use cookies and other technologies to collect information about Your use of the Website and Your preferences and activities.  These tools collect information sent by Your device or the Website and other information that assists us in improving the Website.  This information may be used to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand Your online activity. 

    We use Google Analytics to better understand who is using the Website and how people are using it. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect and store information such as Website pages visited, places where users click, time spent on each Website page, Internet Protocol address, type of operating system used, location-based data, device ID, search history, and phone number.     Motivation Online Website

    The only cookies or other tracking technologies we or our third party providers use in connection with student users are session cookies that do not collect or store personal information, except for website analytics which collects IP address and uses it for the internal operations of the website.  For teachers and administrators, our live chat customer service provider LivePerson and our analytics provider may place cookies or other tracking technologies on Your device and collect Your personal information.

    Mentoring Minds Website

    We use cookies and other tracking technologies on the Mentoring Minds website to help us understand and save Your preferences and interests so We can personalize Your future visits and compile aggregate data about website traffic and website interaction so that We can offer better website experiences and tools in the future.

    Some of our business partners, such as our analytics providers, live chat provider, advertising networks, and social media connections, also use cookies and other tracking technologies on our website, some of which may track users across websites and over time.

    Following termination or deactivation of a school/district account, We may retain school information and content for a commercially reasonable time for backup, archival, or audit purposes.  However, student personal information will be deleted promptly after the purpose for which it was collected no longer exists. We may maintain anonymized or aggregated data, including usage data, for analytics purposes.

    VI.            Links to Other Websites or Applications

    This Privacy Policy applies only to the Website. The Website may contain links to other websites or apps or may forward users to other websites or apps that We may not own or operate. The links from the Website do not imply that We endorse or have reviewed these websites or apps. The policies and procedures We describe here do not apply to these websites or apps. We neither can control nor are responsible for the privacy practices or content of these websites or apps. We suggest contacting these websites or app providers directly for information on their privacy policies.  Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our Website, and welcome any feedback about these linked websites and mobile applications.

    • Changing Your Information on Motivation Online website – To change Your information, You may login to Your account and go to the “Management” page or contact Your school/school district administrator.  If You are unable to login to Your account, please contact Your school/school district administrator or contact us at info@mentoringminds.com.
    • Closing Your Account – You may close Your account by contacting Your school/school district administrator, contacting us at info@mentoringminds.com, or calling customer service.  If the email account associated with Your email address is not active, We may close Your account without notice. 

    VIII.         Information Collected From Other Websites and Mobile Applications and Do Not Track Policy

    Your browser or device may offer You a “Do Not Track” option, which allows You to signal to operators of websites, web applications, mobile applications and services (including behavioral advertising services) that You do not wish such operators to track certain of Your online activities over time and/or across different websites or applications. Our Website does not support Do Not Track requests at this time, which means that We or our analytics providers or other third parties with which We are working may collect information about Your online activity both during and after Your use of the Mentoring Minds website and during and after Your use of the Motivation Online website if You are an administrator or teacher (but not if You are a student).

    We are concerned about the safety of children when they use the internet.  We want You and Your family to be safe while visiting the Motivation Online website and urge parents to monitor and supervise their child’s online activities.

    Personal information about students enrolled in Motivation Online will only be disclosed to the following third party, in addition to the child’s school, school district, and teachers:

    MySatori LLC, a vendor with which we have contracted to provide portions of the Motivation Online service.
