As a science editor, Karen guides the development of science resources that inspire students and educators alike. Drawing on a 21-year career in education as a teacher and district science facilitator, Karen has a knack for creating “lightbulb moments” and now channels that talent into curricular design. She also has extensive experience developing and conducting professional development workshops on science and educational pedagogy.
In recognition of her outstanding teaching abilities, Karen has been named as the Campus Teacher of the Year, Walmart Teacher of the Year, and the Golden Apple Award recipient. When she’s not designing science investigations, Karen can be found outside exploring the woods, playing with her grandchildren, or firing up the grill.
