In 2002, when Lisa and her husband Michael founded Mentoring Minds, she brought with her a business acumen developed through her career in banking and a deep passion for philanthropy and social responsibility. In the early days, Lisa wore many hats, running the numbers, working the presses, packing boxes, and shaping a company culture that feels like family.
Today, Lisa still hand delivers birthday cards to every employee, but she’s just as instrumental in shaping her community by leading Mentoring Minds’ philanthropic mission. She serves on the boards of the Children’s Park of Tyler, East Texas Food Bank, Literacy Council, East Texas Human Needs Network, Champions for Children, and the Hispanic Business Alliance. For her work, she has been honored with the Women in Tyler Award for Women Who Give and the Spark Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Alongside her husband, Lisa has also been named as a Champion of Change by the White House and T. B. Butler Citizen of the Year by the Tyler Morning Telegraph.
